Peaceful ASMR Moto Camping Catch & Cook on my Firebox Freestyle Wood Fire Stove.

Peaceful ASMR Motorcycle Camping Catch & Cook on my Firebox Freestyle Wood Fire Stove.
This was one of my funnest solo motorcycle camping trips ever! Not the most technical riding, but definitely the most scenic! Spectacular vistas of the valley below as I rode past peaks through high mountain meadows filled with colorful wildflowers of nearly every variety. Beauty streamed past me for hours at a time as I seemingly flew across the skyline just above the ground. Never before have I felt such a sense of peace and freedom!
Getting there was only half the fun since my destinations were every bit as amazing! The 10K emerald green alpine lakes I visited had crystal clear waters that were teaming with trout. I was only able to catch a couple fish, which was okay with me since I had a big beautiful New York beef steak as backup. I cooked it up over hardwood charcoal in the Firebox Freestyle along side my little Rainbow Trout and ate right off the grill with nothing but a dash of Japanese Hakata Spice. I observed lightning strikes across the sky from thunderstorms in the valley below.

I’m Steve, I invent camping gear based on my 40+ years of camping experience. Once I’ve had a chance to test it out myself to be sure it’s as good as I had imagined it could be, I have it made to my picky quality standards then test it some more before making it available to my customers via my safe and secure website.

I grilled my trout and steak on the Firebox Freestyle which is our newest model of stove. The Freestyle features modularity in the fact that stove panels can be arranged to create many different configurations however on this trip I chose to use only the single stove kit which includes the Grill, Firepan Tin, 4 Firesticks and a canvas bag which can be used as a case liner or the case itself will also fit.

My bike is a 2020 Husqvarna 701 LR the modifications that transformed my ability to get through technical terrain the most are: 18″ front wheel & MT 43 rear tire, Rekluse clutch, Clake 2, and bar risers.

Thanks everyone, Steve

Firebox Stove

I added captions. This is my first time so please give me your feedback about what I should do differently next time 👍😎

Richard Trumbo

Wonderful video! I don't like captions unless the voice is in another language. It is T.M.I. for my tired old brain. It takes away from my enjoyment of your videos, but I don't have to have the captions on, so, its OK. Many folks enjoy the CC I'm sure. You do what you like, my friend. Thanks. Remember, follow your toes, not your nose.

Wow 😮 such a beautiful place, and an amazing ride. That steak and trout had me drooling 🤤 epic shots with the lightning in the background of that beautiful lake! Really love how you capture nature in the video and the sounds are like your right there. Amazing! 😎

Norman Mallory

I really enjoy your backcountry treks with your puppers and goats but Moro camping ⛺️ is good too , I’ve done it for a number of years myself !
Really I think it’s a good mix , using your moto allows you to cover more ground and more lakes which is what I did !
I think it’s a good idea to mix some moto into your adventures!

Why are there so many dead trees? Is some disease attacking the trees…?

James Aplin

Love the peaceful sound of nature

Steve Great Video Keep them comming

I was at the first lake a couple years ago and surprised myself by catching a 16" trout. The lake you camped at makes me want to get up there again before the weather sets in. Great setup on your bike. Definitely makes you bring only the necessities.

You're going to need smaller goats!
Next time, try a small casting bubble. Leave yourself a 36" leader tied to a snap swivel below the bubble. Push the tube slightly out of the bubble, then let in enough water to fill the bubble 1/3rd full, then push the tube in snug to trap the water. I recommend a weighted nymph, but dry flies also work. You will be amazed how far you can cast. The weight of the water carries far in the air, but once the bubble lands it floats due to the air remaining in the bubble.
Happy trails!

Enjoyed the video. Slightly prefer your voice to the captions but its pretty equal! Practiced motorcycle camping for decades ( 1970's onwards and still doing it) It enables you to go to the most amazing places…not that keen on long hikes! ( I do a bit but like the mixture of lightweight camping and the ability to carry a few more items when on the bike, or my ancient sidecar outfit. Hope you do more of these.

Nice one Mr Stove, love the scenery. Bike sounds sweet 👍

Forgive for my Ignorance but I'm new here, where are you? This is amazing.

Those 2GoSystems Tyvec bivies are great. I once used mine (Trifecta v3) down to 6°C in just my clothes. I can use as a ground sheet, bivy, or tarp. Now I used it all the time for hot tenting. I got it to replace the way too skinny and sweaty SOL Emergency Bivy that everybody raves about but I found absolutely useless.

Wheeler Aviation

great work.

Stacy Salmans

Nice and relaxing video Steve. Go ahead and go full silent, the scenery and action will carry the video by itself. Loved the lightning show. Was this lake you went to with your family?

Matt Fouch

Is this Montana?

Hey Steve- thanks for the video as always. Just got back from a backcountry trip with the nano, etc. Could you do a video or provide your thoughts on stove and fuel (& fuel management) combinations for longer backpacking trips with the firebox set up?

Jim Reaves

Have you made a metal case for the firebox stove?I have the nano and firebox, best stoves I've seen, thanks

ZMan

I took my old Land Rover there last year, explored and slept in my Rover for 4 days. Won't say where it is but it's beautiful. 👌🏻

Corolla Ae86

Beautiful little trip there! Thanks!

Such beautiful country you live in, Steve!! I'm totally jealous. Your Trout & steak meal made me hungry. And I need to order some of that Hakata spice for my adventures. Thanks for another great video!

Wali Mohammed

So beautiful,
So many colour full flowers, beautiful colors of water and sky.

Only god can make this.

And God love’s us when we appreciate.

Every time I watch your video I feel healthier and happier.

Awesome 👏

🙏❤️👍

Madame Campsalot

Another great video! Are those dirt roads on a map? Thanks so much for sharing your "back 40"!

SamoyedMoms

Love this! My kind of riding – ambling along (on my Honda Monkey 125cc) a mountain dirt road. Firebox fire-cooked steak and fish. Coffee in that fresh mountain air. Gorgeous lake. Serenely quiet in nature. Heaven on Earth.

The emerald lakes are georgous. I would never be brave enough to travel those mountain trails to get there.
