This is a ‘Juwel 34’ Stove, made by ‘Gustav Barthel’ in Germany, Dresden, in around 1950. The Juwel 34 was the ‘sports cooker’ in its time, because it was small and fast to use.
I purchased this stove online for around 20$.
The lettering:
It disappeared after painting it with the hammerpaint, but it will reappear after 4-5 times of using. The paint gets a little soft when hot and fades down the sides of the stove. Thats why the original green paint had a faded structure.
The color:
These stoves were painted originally, but always in the same color with the housing. So I didnt paint the housing silver again.

Ausgezeichnet !
😇❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
I want it !!!!!!!!!
Very nice job
Not a fan of the gold paint but you did an excellent job restoring it it looks wonderful!! I think you got lucky to have both the funnel and the tool that came with it.
Enjoyed your video and I gave it a Thumbs Up
Super.
Normally the sink in the middle of the tank is for preheating. Just put some gasoline in ther and light it up. If it is totally burned down you can start the stove. In winter you might have to repeat preheating up to two times.
Finally, an interesting thing. But I like it👍

Es ist lebensgefährlich mit offener Flamme an einen Benzintank zu gehen!
That was awsome. It's a neat litle stove
Excellent watching this. As an avid hiking/backpacking enthusiast, seeing this vintage stove come back to life was all I needed to see to prompt me to subscribe with notifications. Cheers.
Всё отреставрировал, а набивку штока не заменил!!! "Очень хороший" мастер!!! 🙂
what's that tool called, the vibrating polisher you used?
Very nice
Waw amazing 😘
Great restoration work, indeed.
But there's a potential danger in case of real use.
Fuel cap(bang) has built-in AntiOverPressure valve (don't know correct term). And now it can be blocked after sand bath.
Nice work! I liked the vinegar bath treatment
I have a stove that looks very similar made in Sweden, Svea 123 all brass. I bought new back in 1971, I think I'll get it out and fire it up just to hear it roar. It was a comforting sound on some cold Adirondack winter camp outs.
you can remove the rust on the rope by electrolisation
Thanks very much, I love these restoration vids and vintage kit like this.
cheers
Ian
Awesome thanks
Nice to see this pack stove brought back to usable condition. Enjoy it!
Brilhante vídeo meu amigo

Cool.

Excellent restoration. I especially liked the use of vinegar. Question… it seems to me the “housing” could be used as pans. If true, is paint heat resistant and food grade? Thanks!
4:22 that was weirdly cool. 1st the paint peels of, then rust show up, than it becomes white again like the paint, it mixed me up at first.
Nice
I had a stove similar to this. It's compact size is specific to it being a backpacker's camp stove. Easy to pack and very light.
Great restoration.
I just subscribed, don't want to be part of the 91.3% Great video's 👍👍👍
MP is back!! Great work!! I missed your videos and your excellent production. Good job, these guy love what he do 💪🏼😎.
Greetings from Venezuela
These were the standard equipment of the east Germanys army until the reunion of Germany. After 1989 they were still produced and sold as camping stoves. I bought mine in 1990 or '91. Correct starting is described in a comment below, fill the indent with gasoline and light it to heat up the tube. Makes quite a noise when running.
The biggest advantage is, it is running with gasoline. As long as you filled up your bike, you can always cook a meal 😉
Enjoyed the video. Reminded me of my Svea 123. As you know stoves like this sputter or purr. First time the Svea was used, my friend said we should name it motorboat because it sounds like a motorboat. From then on it was “Motorboat”. It became part of the group. The question was never, “Are you bringing your stove?” But, “Is Motorboat coming?”
Отличная походная печка 👍
Это не реставрация это так ремонт )))🤣
Ok after watching several of your videos I believe I’ll sub now. Wish you the best!
I thing housing plates should be used as boiling vessel or dishes.
Nicely done resto, and very creatively videoed and edited. That stove is very similar to my Svea 123 that I have owned since the late 1960's. Mine is all brass. Still works great.
Great restoration, I particularly liked the vinegar bath. I believe the top and bottom plates are supposed to be pans / pots for the stove. Although they were painted prior to the restoration. It makes more sense for a space / weight savings for camping that the pan is incorporated into the design.
Both lids are also meant to be used fr cooking or boiling something in it, but you need a tool to use them that way. This was made BEFORE the war, NOT GDR.. GDR products were always stamped VEB ! (VolksEigenesBetrieb).

Looks gorgeous.
But aren't the top and bottom pieces the pots to cook in and eat from? I don't know if i'd want hammertone pasta 😁
