Skoda is, in my opinion, becoming the luxury car brand of the people, with it’s Simply Clever ethos driving the brunt of jokes in the automotive world, to being an underdog in everyday luxury. In this video I explain why I believe Škoda deserve some respect for the luxury and simple innovation they’re putting out!
I hope you enjoy the video!

Most underrated brand
Octavia=road noise and interior rattles.
On my third Superb. Best cars I’ve ever owned by a long way. (Over 50 years)
It’s amazing how so many don’t understand what has happened in the Volkswagen Audi Group. The same comments here, skoda are a budget VW. That’s not true anymore for the vast majority of their range, what Skoda offer are better interior quality, space and comfort for the same price as the equivalent VW model. It’s a bit bonkers. It’s like Skoda are essentially the value brand for those who want a bit more luxury in their car than a VW provides but don’t want to pay Audi prices. Seat are for the younger age bracket. Skoda for those wanting value without compromise. And Audi for the badge prestige and build quality. I’m confused though as to where that leaves VW itself….
In other words , lots and lots of gadgets out in to potentially go wrong , make the wiring loom terrifying for repairs thus adding to insurance write off probability, thus potentially degrading the marquess reliability?
Skoda is good but not as good value as Dacia. Plus VW deliberately makes the design hardly likeable to not undermine its VW or Seat lines. Ofc, there are those who force themselves to genuinely like the way it looks. It's made for working class people who indeed are looking for accessible "luxury" at a variably accessible price. Or people who are fed up with the exuberant costs of maintaining a Merc but think a Dacia is too extreme of a downgrade, so they are prepared to continue wasting less but still some of their money nevertheless. Much like middle class people who think they are getting a bang for their dollar by buying Audi, because they can't afford a BMW. You can always waste money with your car choice, regardless which level of luxury you can afford. Just don't. The best or nothing. The best doesn't mean ultimate luxury. Simply means ultimate bang for your money. 😉 Don't waste your money on mediocrity. Yet again, a Skoda is a good deal if you own a 7 year-old Bentley and you are on life support because of the 10-year debt it put you in. But then, it's a bit late to think about a Skoda anyways. Cheap luxury always ends up more expensive than luxury. If you are seeking cheap luxury, you are not being practical, while evidently you most definately need to be practical. If you are looking for luxury, then you don't need to be practical, because you can afford anything. 0 or 1. Not both. Never.
WTF are you on about?
I absolutely LOVE Skoda, but to imply luxury and cleverness? perhaps some 90 years ago, but in the last 35 years it's nothing but handout parts and design from Volkswagen. If you want a good price/performance Audi, then you buy a Skoda (today, only a retard buys Audi/BMW/VW/Mercedes).
During 2000s it was quite popular in India among politicians, celebrities and church priests. Poor aftersale support ruined the reputation of the brand though.
I drive a tdi octavia as a company car and the only thing i dislike about it is the bad standard seats and really bouncy suspension that feels like a boat. Otherwise its great car, i bet the RS is better
Love how the channel is growing. Top quality mate!
Have a7 1.8, dq381, stage 3. I love my car!
Are you european or a immigrant in eu?
nice scenery road! where was this filmed?
as a test driver of these, they are all indeed great. What Škoda lacks is the presence overseas in US 🙁
You should research more, because Skoda has always been a VW rebrand just like SEAT….
That's not how you spell Tesla lol
What car do you have now
Your video is quite bouncy and jerky. Try keep the camera stiill? It makes some viewers quite sea sick. Anti – shake camera maybe?
I love your content – I'll definitely look at Skoda now after your video. Just wished it was less bouncy and shaky
We got the skoda kodiaq sportline omg, what lovely car. So much space really comfortable long distance trips it also looks good
I can confirm that new Skoda Octavia with additional magnetic suspension can be as comfortable as S-class mercedes by it's ride quality. Of course materials are not in same level but they're really still not bad.
Why is Skoda not offered in north America ? I rented an estate wagon from Hertz at one of the northern airports and was verbs with the quality and features. I would buy one in a heartbeat if it were available in California
I can only agree. My parents took delivery of a brand new Octavia last winter and it's amazing on so many levels. I literally wouldn't want another car even twice the price. Now what really has my interest is when the new Superb comes out, since the current model has more or less been around since 2015.
I wonder how this works out for VW group, Skoda, Seat and even VW brand are stepping up and getting more luxurious, they are all competing against each other and getting more expensive.
Its not luxury & its not cheap!
Well, I have Škoda Octavia II (2006) with 478 000 km, no plans to have a new car… 1 milion easy…
Try a Citroen.
I rented a superb estate for our holiday in Sicily in 2019. Hands down the most comfortable and enjoyable cheap car we have ever rented. So much so I am seriously debating on buying one now as a family car replacement.
Funny thing is as you know in Czech Republic and Slovakia as we mostly have this cars we never heard any jokes about them it's always been number one most used car knows as cheap and long lasting cars.old skodas are still driven daily to work and it works as it should if something goes bad it's cheap to fix it /buy new part.so people who usually was making jokes about Skoda was only in foreigner countries as they seem made in Czechoslovakia something from middle of no where at the end of Europe and obviously it's not near a truth.my dad still own Skoda Felicia from 1997 and still drives it daily starts at once in cold weather and runs cheap.
I have a fabia monte carlo 1.2 tsi auto nd it's only 3.4 seconds slower than a golf gti nd I have a pan roof Android auto leather streeing wheel nd all round a nice car so performance is amazing for 1.2 turbo
I got skoda octavia 2021 sport that car is amazing
The word Skoda and Luxury is something that don't go together! I have the image that Skoda is a cheap and shitty eastblock car and as a former car salesman I have had so much issues with Skoda, VW, Seat and Audi with their shitty DSG transmissions and the insanely bad TSI motors that struggle to last for over 100000km. These cars are everywhere, they are, slow, ugly and have a lot of cheap feeling materials. Just save your money and get an 5-10 years old C or E class Mercedes-Benz if you want "luxury".
The 2010 superb vr6 is possibly the best value car: its cheap, its comfortable, its fucking massive and the engine is quite fast stock and it can easily be tuned to get insane power, and it also has 4wd and a DSG gearbox
Im from Czech republic so im used to seeing Škodas everywhere but over the last few years they apear more and more in videos and photos from other countries and even continents, love to see it.
Škoda is in danger. Volkswagen didn't like that Škoda was about to be bigger than them, so they started to limit what they are allowed to put in their cars. A similar thing can happen to Seat any time soon.
Skoda only has some huge trunks for people who usually live in the country and bring products to the city .
A shitty article, to kiss the bottom of Skoda, You can not put on equal footing the reliability of Skoda with what of Toyota.
Apart from Superb in all Skoda models I feel cramped on my feet and knees, so comfort towards zero, for example Ford is much more comfortable and more pleasant to drive, so more luxurious than Skoda.
