A. Moss can grow on any side of a tree and B. the south side of the trees would get the most sun exposure, not the north side.
I know the cabin in the last story it is the civil war veterans cabin he built when he came home and found his wife got a new man because she thought he was dead. This place is actually known to be haunted he is known to haunt the place
