We went hot tent winter camping in a snow storm and heavy rain. It started snowing as we were setting up our hot tent and wood stove. Then in the evening it switched back and forth between rain and snow. We cooked lamb for dinner on our wood stove and it tasted amazing. We get cozy and relax while drinking hot tea and listening to the sounds of rain and sounds of fire crackling. Once it was time for bed it switched to heavy snowfall on our tent which was really relaxing while we slept next to the fire. In the morning we woke up to fresh snow and enjoyed the beautiful scene. We were 8500 feet above sea level in the Rocky Mountains and it got down to 15 degrees Fahrenheit outside. We used our 10’x10’ Cabin Lodge Tent from Kodiak Canvas with a Colorado Cylinder Timberline Stove and they both were great and made the trip so comfortable and gave us shelter from the winter storm blowing outside.

I took my son out for a winter camp. Was to be a couple inches of snow. We woke up to over a foot. Snow is a great insulator! 😄 Didn't have a tent stove back in the day, however the heat from the fire was tunneled to the tent wirh a dining canopy & kitchen setup.
When the Ranger came by to check on everyone he said he was told we were tent camping so he didn't know what to expect & relieved we knew what we were doing. 😊
We set up a coffee hot chocolate station for the college kids that we out skiing the fire trails & they built snow forts with my son & made lil sleds. Ended up staying a week! 😊
