Hot Tent Winter Camping In Deep Snow

In this video I go hot tent winter camping in deep snow with my new OneTigris Northgaze hot tent. This is the deepest snow I have been hot tent winter camping in for a long time! I timed this hot tent camping trip to coincide with a winter storm in the area. It had already snowed 18″ (46 cm) by the time I arrived and it snowed another 8″ (20 cm) while I was there! The snow was mostly knee deep but I sank waist deep in a couple places where the snow had drifted. It was very difficult to hike through this powdery snow with my sled! The temperature was 27°F (-3°C) during the day and dropped to 23°F (-5°C) during the night. I made pasta with sausage for dinner and slept like a baby! This was a challenging but very enjoyable trip!

Have you ever had a tent collapse on you? (Don't forget to turn on subtitles for commentary!)

Boy that was a lot of snow. I use a similar fan for our wood stove at home, they work great, good idea using it in the hot tent. I love your little kit to hold matches and such, thanks for sharing.

Too bad all this effort for only one night. At least worth two.

I agree that hard work goes into making the video, but each video is the same. Hike in, pat down snow, erect tent, set up stove, collect & process wood, cook, light stove, set up sleep system……..
