What do we think of Airco (controlled by a knob) and Climate Control (with a set temperature).
I have climate control and find I always fiddle with the temperature until it feels right. While a knob on a simple airco (rental car) can be adjusted without looking at it, until it feels right.
So is climate control just a luxury gimmick compared to a simple airco? I think so.
Ok I watched another video where you said you help diagnose if there's too much pressure when you go to fill with the little can but I can't find it. Do I need to take it to a mechanic so they can suck the refrigerant out with a recycler? It just started blowing hot, it went from ice cold to hot in about 10 minutes. Went to top it off thought maybe the refrigerant was low but the cans pressure gauge was in the red. Any suggestions?
In Mexico they just sell the recycled stuff to everyone and no one is complaining 😂😂😂
Am I the only one that clicked to see which vehicle has the climate controls to the left of the steering wheel?
I stay in Africa, Nigeria to be precise, we run our AC all year long, ac is a criteria used to rate a car price here. But my question is – does running AC all frequently affect the engines lifespan or wears the engine?
I'm a certified refrigerant handler, and I'll give you the most important maintenance tip for your A/C is, run it no less than once a week, 52 weeks a year! When the A/C is assembled, or repaired, several ounces of special refrigerant oil is included with the refrigerant charge. This oil is to lubricate the compressor and all the neoprene seals in the system, and it works by circulating every time the A/C is turned on. If the A/C is left off for a month or two, the seals can dry out, because no refrigerant oil is circulated through the system. If they dry out too much, they'll fail, and now your A/C doesn't work anymore! The owners manual in my Camry says to do it "every two weeks" and they think a minimum of 30 seconds run time is enough.
Upgrading the stock grounds adding on to them helps the ac tremendously to.
Don't
I can't understand what the name of that product is?
Is that a little corrosion on your battery terminal?? 😳🤣
NO WAY!!! Didn't know that
Why do you yell! Jesus relax!
Is big condensation puddles bad? 2011 lexus rx350 has larger ones than ive seen on my toyotas. Even in winter when not running super cold a/c. Just keeping car at 72/74
Yeah thats what's happening. Its not cold air you feel its the sucking out of hot air.
British Thermal Units aka latent heat is the the key to greater understanding of an a/c system.
It's called, "Latent heat of vaporization," not, "Sucking the heat out of the car." I formerly taught automotive A/C and electrical systems in a community college automotive program, and I was a Ford Motor Company Ford- Lincoln Mercury Working Shop Foreman.
Anybody heard of this one?? The compressor is working, the fans are running and no cold air. 2009 Accord, any help would be appreciated.
I don't have ac in my old SUV and a lot of things don't work right too.
Thank you for the video
If you’re working on your own car, you do not have to worry about a recycler. You are of course allowed to work on your very own vehicle. Recyclers are only needed if you are working on other peoples cars for profit — especially as a business.
I'm surprised you don't have an audio file of clanka, clanka, clanka..
theres your problem!
Here’s some advice. When placing dye in the AC to find a leak, remember to check the condenser. I just spent $1600 to replace my Honda Odyssey condenser, fan and compressor because schlenkers failure to consider a leak was in the condenser.
My ac system stoped working the shop said there was no leaks it was just low on Freon so the pressure switch was keeping the compressor off. He added about a pound of Freon and it started working again for safe measure he injected a green dye into the system but the ac been working fine for a month now.
in houston?
Technically the word 'suck' doesn't exist. It is a 'void'. Create a void, air rush's in.
Air has weight. 1.087 lb per cubic foot at 70 degrees F and at sea level.
This is tempered by heat, moisture, pressures, and 'whatever is sea level'?
For instance, when calculating basic btu loads in an industrial powder-coat cure oven there is the oven walls [0.035] and floor load [0.07]. The substrate, [work conveyed into the oven] The coefficient of the substrate [0.12 for steel. 0.24 for aluminum]. The rise in deg.F. of the impinging air. And the exhaust but.
Sidebar: Resistance through air squares as speed doubles.
07:42 what the hell is that 😳
is Scotty back on his home in Texas?
my 2004 Colorado blows air not cold air tho but it can put out heat too just not cold just air yea…
Great advice. Back in Houston at the old shop? 😀
With all the money Scotty’s got he’s still using an old messed up dinky set of gauges 😂 I respect it. 🤙🏼
I love it when scotty wiggled the cabin air filter back and fourth
I’m confused. I saw a video of Scotty’s the other day where he shows how to use a can of refrigerant with the built in gauge to recharge the ac. Then this video he says don’t . Make up my mind!
Didn't he just use one of those cans with the gauge a few videos ago?
Scott question about 2010 avalanche 5.3. Check engine light came on, got code for oil pressure sensor.replced that and filter and still doing same thing. When rpm go up the oil pressure goes up to about half but then goes right back down to quarter. No overheating or anything like that.
