Edit: Found the answer. They can apparently drive the car with special tyres and not more than 100km for promotional purposes
No. It’s not banned anymore. They modified the rules In December and limited the size of those things. It’s all legal. Every design goes to fia for approval before a team develops it ….

EXCELLENT!! Strategy is still a problem. Carlos should run strat, he's much better at it than the pitwall clowns (he showed it whilst driving in Monaco and in Silverstone last year. Vasseur should sack iñaki rueda and laurent mekies asap!!
