Hi there! A major snow storm hit the eastern coast of North America. Since the roads were a no-go, I headed out to the quinzhee (a shelter built by digging into a pile of snow,) that we built a couple of weeks ago. The weather was wild and pretty awesome. I expanded the shelter quite a bit and hunkered down for a pretty great night. I hope you all enjoy!

LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOVE IT!!!
Hot Kool Aid?
Excellent episode. Great shelter. Reminds me of my youth in New England.
Nice shelter and video buddy ! that was quite the storm we got eh !! Another one on the way haha I like those candle lanterns, they look pretty nice ! Cheers !
😊👍👏
Very nice video
I don't think I could bring myself to sleep in a quinsy. I would be afraid of it falling in on me
I get it 100%! I'm just like you with weather. I LOVE extreme weather, especially blizzards, thunderstorms & high winds. It IS invigorating! The only thing I can't handle (and frankly, can't stand) is heat. Once the temps get higher than 73-75°F, I'm miserable.
That looks so cozy!!
Mike I see you always have good time, take care.
Good to see you Mike,,wow what a shelter especially in those conditions, absolutely brilliant kid👌👌👌👌👌
Would be a life changing experience to find out a sleeping bear right next to me when I wake up.
I subscribed to your channel
..cool video keep up the great content.. Thank you…
Nice snow shelter 💞
I love the video I miss u Sandra 🙏🏻
Well ….. that was quite the chilly one Mike. Can’t say as I blame Sandra for staying home. Thanks for sharing…. I’m still shivering 🥶!
Brrrrrr!! Glad to see you out Mike but I think Sandra may be the smart one. 😂 thanks much for sharing your videos.
Back around 1980 I spent a week in an igloo similar to yours. I knew if an effective low heat loss ventilation system were not employed , much of your body and candle heat would be lost,
So what I did was use a plastic inverted container with a 3/4 inch PVC pipe inserted into the top at the top of the igloo. The air input was a 2 inch PVC pipe extending just outside of the sealed entrance but with a 4 inch long 90 degree elbow facing downward thereby insuring that it wouldn't get filled with snow. Also please understand that this was inside the 4 foot long entrance corridor just before the slab of snow which completely closed it off – Except for the 2 inch PVC pipe opening. Remember also the the upper output pipe was only 3/4 inch. It's nuts that I can't just insert a drawing to clarify what I'm trying to say. Outside it was zero farenheight with constant wind and inside with me and a couple candles it was 30 degrees F.
Love your work Mike but that is the most claustrophobic thing I've ever seen, very creepy
I love your snow shelter.if I was there ide stay in it too..awsome video
This looks like so much fun. Wish we could get snow like this
you say hot kool aid bro??…
So cool, you should be proud!❤️❤️❤️👍👍👍👏👏👏
65° Fahrenheit or 18.3° Centigrade in New Orleans. Cheers
I picture Sandra warm at home with a cat sleeping on her lap🥳
I love storms too, mother nature is amazing and awesome. You probably can't hear much outside when you're in there, can you? I imagine it's pretty soundproof. Enjoyed the video 👍
Your last video inspired me to build my own ironically enough I'm camping out tonight as I watch your video
Enjoyed the vid Mike thank you .
It’s pretty cool nice set up !! I remember building them as a kid !! Where abouts did you buy those lanterns ??
I love a good storm Mike. I’ve stayed in a quinzee a few times. They are so guilt and insulted. Once it was minus 30 outside and only zero inside. They can be comfortable when built large enough
Great video great endurance I have to say love your channel
Now that looked like a good time. Nice shelter and really like those candles. Take care and stay safe, Al
So glad to see that you made it through the night I Annesely was worried. Didn’t look like anything to eat but I just had something warm to drink. Always stay safe
That was a good old maritime snow storm.. well done
I have to admit that this made me extremely nervous with you being inside there and that’s such a small area. I would not be able to do that and I was just worried about you.Wouldn’t wanna see anything happen to you or Sandra in there and you were doing all this work by yourself what if it collapsed on you. Looking forward to seeing your new adventure. Please stay safe
That was amazing that you couldn't here the storm outside. Was you warm all night while you was asleep. I hope you ate supper and breakfast cuz we didnt see you lol hi sandra was it a tad extreme for you. Your kitty loved the fact you didnt go lolxx
Amazing! True Bush Crafting!
Winter storm is fixin to hit here too.. They are forecasting snow and ice..we will see what it does.. people are just going crazy around here, like we have never had a winter storm before,, the stores are all packed.. wow!! Here in Oklahoma usa we won't get that much snow,, love watching these kind of videos. I see Sandra's not there,, I am not sure I would want to be out there either, miss her though.. You are one brave man.. and I love this video.. thanks for sharing.
Nice! That was a crazy storm!!!
Great video, what you go thru to keep your subscribers happy. Hope you have thawed out by now.
Gosh, I’m so jealous of all your snow!! I love storms too, but we don’t get much snow here in SC, USA. I love your quinsy, but I would be afraid it would collapse on me. Lol. I have been watching you & Sandra since way back when & I enjoy seeing how the channel has grown. This is my favorite channel & has been since I discovered it. I have my Mama hook on you guys as well! We never miss a video and anticipate each new one. Thanks for the entertainment Mike & Sandra. You guys are great together. Keep up the good work! __ Cindy & Hilda
