A True Utility Vehicle! CAR WIZARD shows Nothing compares to the Honda Element today.

Many vehicles are considered ‘Sport Utility Vehicles’, but this 2004 Honda Element is the real deal. The CAR WIZARD 🧙‍♂️ show just how durable this vehicle is and why it’s sad Honda discontinued this really cool, utility car.

BS! Ferrari is Garbage!

Scott Gephart

Using the laser pointer is a great idea!

I’ve had one since ‘06. I drive with hand controls and loved it because I could throw my wheelchair in the back and having clam shell doors made it so easy to get in and out. I’ve made many trips to Texas to hunt hogs and it just has never let me down. I slam lowered it Tien lowering springs and struts which made it easier to jump in from a wheelchair. Can’t say how much I’ve loved her and will never get rid of her. I named her Grace after my amazing mom.

That car is so uncomfortable to drive, especially in a manual.

Nick Barnes

They should have (still could) bring the best parts of the Element to a rugged CRV model. I can see where modern design requirements made the Element chassis obsolete.

I would never garden hose spray my element interior . It is handy with the folding back seats. Lay the passenger side seats flat and 2×4’s fit in. Super handy.

My bad. You did say "week". Lol

david baldwin

"The 18th month of 2022." Seriously?

Utility vehicles peaked in the 2000s, common work trucks peaked in the 70s and 80s. My opinion, you can say differently.

Mo Mo

Star Trek reference. The borg cube.

Mis information – you CANT hose down interior!! Unless you want mold and rust.
It is a great car! I had a 03 for 13 yrs.

I had a 2003 Honda Element, manual transmission, AWD with over 200,000 miles, and loved it ! I miss it terribly, because it was such a versatile vehicle !
It was systematically vandalized in the State of Connecticut, reported, and basically ignored. Not only was I GASLIT, by some (not all) of the local police officers, but the Mayor for the Town of Berlin, CT. He thought it was funny too, and mocked me. I worked three low paying jobs to pay off the vehicle, while trying to make ends meet.
The vandalism started in 2010/2011-2015. I had to junk the vehicle for $300.00 in 2015, because I could not afford to fix the vehicle any longer, and did not want to claim it on my insurance, because my rates would rise or they would drop me !
I used to not only work on my ex boyfriends vehicle (Mustang), I worked on my own from time to time. With that being said, just because I am a woman, does not mean that I did not realize what was going on !
More reports have been filed, and I WILL receive justice and financial restitution for ALL of the crimes ! I WILL have the LAST laugh ….!
Add this crime to the list, right underneath the crime that involved my infant daughter (Miya Jane Justeson 2/23/2007-3/18/2007) whose case must be processed.
Thank you for posting this video ! I would LOVE if Honda would redesign (slight modifications) an Element starting in 2024 !
I, as well as others, I assume, have ideas on how to improve certain features of the vehicle.

I have an '07 with only 60k 😎

Erik Link

I really miss my 2004 Element. Unfortunately, it got a blown head gasket at 200k miles. The cost to fix it was more than Blue Book value (at the time), so I sold it as-is for $750. Regretting it ever since!

I love Honda, I love Elements. They are incredibly reliable and versatile. However these Honda Elements are notoriously unsafe in the event of an accident. An old coworker of mine had a family member die in one of these. We are technicians in the collision industry

DO NOT HOSE THESE CARS OUT! There are no drain plugs, marketing at Honda said they could be hosed out but engineering never intended for it.

Ky

DO NOT hose out your element. Many people have tried and ruined electrical components. It is a bad idea and not a viable option. You could get away with mopping it out, but the whole "hose it out" thing is hogwash.

Javier De la Rösa

Do you think this would be perfect for an auto tech doing side work on the weekends? Nothing too crazy just a jack, couple of jack stands, and a tool bag. I was thinking about getting a ridgeline but now that I'm seeing this element, I don't know now lol.

Databloom70

Washing an Element out with a garden hose has proven to be a bad idea. There's electrical that runs underneath and filling the floor with water can cause major issues down the road. Also, some things are easier to work on than others. Hope and pray you don't have to replace the starter anytime soon; what a pain! Parts are getting harder and harder to find as well, and when you do find them (especially OEM) they're super expensive. Used market prices on the Element are overinflated due to the car being somewhat of a collectors item these days. Most used units you'll find will have well over 100k, which I know for a Honda isn't god awful, but you really need to know the service history if you want a reliable one. I've owned an 09' and currently have an 06' and all things considered, they've been great vehicles. I know a lot of people who'd like to see it back in action, but currently Honda has no plans to bring it back. And even if they did, you have to remember that newer versions of an older much revered model often don't live up to legacy of the original.

I bought an '06 Element with 145k miles a few years ago. Closer to 200k now. Hasn't needed more than oil changes yet. Love it.

K 7

Just had a customer bring one in this week from a fender bender. Drove smoothly and had no issues driving it around the shop. I realized at some point the vehicle had 364k miles. Was extremely impressed.

Nakis Perry

Beware of the rear lower control arm mounts that rust out on these cars.

paul c

I bought a certified used 2004 in 2005. It was the biggest mistake vehicle purchase I’ve ever made. I was a five speed 4×4 fun to drive by was a lemon. Clutch issues and I’ve owned many standard shift cars. Leaked water, aerodynamic challenged so horrible mpg. Terrible in winter. I sold it to an elderly couple and they still own it. Haha.

CJ Smith

I have a 2008 one and LOVE it. Honda, please bring these back!

Roye Inbar

Probably the ugliest vehicle you did not know about..

Dr. Smasher

I have a 2006 AWD 2.4L Element, and it's an amazing vehicle. You can cram so much stuff into one, it's insane. It's like the Tardis from Doctor Who. I've shoved a whole framed exterior door, and bigger boxes of flooring planks and they fit like a glove. A+, would keep until either the engine or transmission, or I die

Cory Jackman

Plastique… If you're fancy…

OceanKai Le

if they got released in current economy, will be a blast.

Toby Cripe

The reason Honda stopped making the Element is because YOU PEOPLE never get rid of them! Mine’s got 243k lol

Eric Feldkamp

Loved my element. Moved 65 cubic ft of dirt in one go to complete a veggie garden project. HD guy was shocked, so was I. Northern salt did it in.

Patrick Ibarra

I have a 04 crv and that thing was a trooper. If i wasn't a broke student and had a fulltime job I could afford to keep that thing on the road forever ever baby. Honda is the man corolla just keeps on going.
