Why on earth did my post get removed? I'm really annoyed by youtube for removing my posts from the internet. Anyway, I wrote that you should get a chat with Tesla for example, they could perhaps make this thing for real if it can really achieve 200 miles of range without much of a problem and recharge within minits.
Problem is the usage of air as energy transmission and storage is very unefficient. Also the engine showed is much less efficient than it would be with (air…) pistons, due to friction, as it was obvious with the similar Wankel engine compared to the normal Otto 4-stroke. Otherwise a nice idea and maybe useful in some special applications…
Vehicles powered by compressed air …… most scientists don’t understand how it can be achieved efficiently.
By Angelo Di Pietro from Engineair Pty Ltd, Australia in response to critics of compressed air vehicles.
Ask yourself what an internal combustion engine really is, and what it does?
An internal combustion engine is no more than a compressor, its initial operation is to compress the air and it does so in the worst possible manner ….. it compresses hot air and uses petrol or diesel to do so. A good part of the fuel you put in your tank is used for this operation and polluting our environment in the process.
Now ask yourself why you think it is better to use fuel to compress the air when solar, wind and hydro is a clean and more affordable option.
Furthermore, why should we use petrol, gas or diesel to generate heat to power the motor when the same performance can be obtained by storing heat generated by solar wind or hydro and not polluting or burning any oxygen in the process. And doing so in a much more affordable manner.
We can get all the power we need from the Engineair motor, its performance is already much better then an internal combustion engine.
There is so much more I would love to tell you but unfortunately I cannot because of trade secrets, I am sorry.
By visiting our facility and signing a nondisclosure agreement I can provide a much better insight into our technology and its potential.
also, smaller home size solar power compressed air storage. compressed air for 1 of these motors to make electricity when the sun or wind is not available.no lead batteries. this is an idea there trying on a large scale.
If they made motorbike that runs on compressed air that can be filled up at petrol stations just like you pump your tires with air, I will buy two if the price is right. You can virtually ride around all day for free
O boy another believer in crap videos on Youtube. Engineairs own power consumption charts show the range is horrible. A std dive tank using one of the 6hp motors is empty in 5 minutes. It has no future as was proved in the past. It's an OLD idea
Please read the original coment I replied to. The post was nonsence as the usage vs power produced was not specified. The fact is a 6 hp air motor even at MDI's or Engineairs claimed 90% efficency will empty a std 12L dive tank in seconds. Your post about engineering compromises is irrelevant to the discussion. Compressed air motors feed by air tanks lack the power and energy density to be anything other than a toy or a Scam.
Engineering is all about compromises and to find an optimal solution based on your design requirements. What you posted is like saying your car engine is useless because if you put it in a 18 wheeler truck it will burn out in 2 seconds. How about the 18 wheeler engine is useless when installed on an ocean-liner or the space shuttle? Your argument is simply pointless in that line of thought. You can always belittle anything by changing the requirement to something that it cannot fulfill.
I wonder what makes you think that someone has to use that much air on a rotary engine design and what makes you think your better then they are. Advancements in Science are made all the time and running small vehicles on Air might make places like new york smog free. They also have a new rotary engine out there that is more efficient then your standard engine. Bet you cant top that and make millions of dollars instead of coming online and making stupid comments.
Try a 6hp motor will empty a std dive tank in a matter of seconds.
The engineer mob at least issue pdf'sfrom which you can see the HP consumption figures Boiling it down a vehicle using 6hp would run for about 5 minutes. If that excits you you're going to wet yourself when you see sliced bread.
why are people criticizing the air engine? IT IS WHAT IT IS, they have success on an air engine, yes it runs on compressed air, but what the heck? HELLO? Only one compressed tank can last two hours, Plus they can reserve like 2 or 3 more tanks, so they have plenty of time to refill any tank while ONE is in Use. idiots damn!
Yes, you will need to use a large battery pack in your house to do that, then use these batteries to recharge car battery or to power air compressor to refil the tanks.. The smarttest ideia is use smart grid to substitute battery.
I'm watching this and I just can't believe it!
I don't know weather to be happy these things actually work and exist or to be utterly sad about the human race being so rotten that we don't have these on the roads already!!
To compare vehicles over a century apart is not a smart decision to prove your point. Technology advancements in the past hundred years have been massive. To get from the fully mechanical Model T to the near completely electronics of the m3 innovations such as computers have completely changed the game, also the improvements in the building of roads have made a huge differences. Batteries aren't completely recyclable and still need a constant supply of resources because of the chemical reaction.
@DraRed73 I know, but your comment was "At present the creation of electricity comes mainly from heating water to make steam, ie creating a pressurised gas. Why take that gas and turn it into electricity with all the associated inefficiencies rather than store the compressed gas and use that directly. Far more efficient.", which is hard to do when the compressed gas (steam) would soon condense. Perhaps you meant a mechanical, steam driven compressor? Did I misinterpret you?
@OhNoItsJoana No, a large high pressure tank can fill it in three minutes. The compressor took four hours. I'm too sleepy to double-check my math right now, but it looks like 200 litres of air at 300bar is roughly equal to one litre of diesel fuel for raw potential energy. I don't see how this energy equation can work, though anyone who's handled air tools will tell you that the POWER density is incomparable!
@cplai No way. We could just put the compressor inside the car next to the motor (since it's so small) and stop at the gas station, connect the compressor to the plug (also used to charge battery cars), wait 3 minutes and it's done!
I think the main problems is petrol being so deep in our economics. It would revolutionize the world.
@PyR0Star Yep MDI is still going gang busters. They have been conning technically illiterate investors since the late1990's. Haven't sold any cars of course, as these crap mobiles are ancient technology, low power, short range and inefficient, that's the one thing they will never do.
AND WHEN !!! THE AIR OR WATER POWERED CAR , WHEN THERE WILL BE A TCHERNOBYL OR A FUKUSHIMA ON THE MOON , HYPOCRITICAL POLITICAL SYSTEM , BUSSINESSMEN ARE BITCH , APOCALYPSE NOW ??? THE EARTH THE NATURE IS SICK BUT LOT OF PEOPLE DEAD OR AGONIZE , ECOLOGIC RE EVOLUTIONS PLEASE ……….!!!

Could it use external combustion? Like combustion in a separate chamber? Heck this thing could be steam powered.
Honestly though, if this is something that is totally limited to warehouses, that's already a huge win.
POOF gone! Not another word heard 10 years later. Someone bought and shelved this tech…
Which decate they have lunch the this engine in market

I can see why Angelo di Pietro has not been able to get people to take this idea seriously – as it so simple its not funny !!! LOL
movie time

so has this dude been disappear or paid off my big oil cause i can find any updates
Combine with Bill Mollison's idea
Limitless clean energy that can make petrolium fuels obsolete
Limitless clean energy that can make petrolium fuels obsolete

Build the trompe and supply the cars with air. Small charge for the air. Sustainable business.

thank you di pietro for offering this only to those who have millions of dollars. good looking out for the small guy. cheers.
my idea said, give the engine timing belt and compressor (big), so never get out of air!
What if you re-use the (exhaust) air? Wouldn't that make it have Perpetual air? Well, not really perpetual, but significantly increase its range?
O boy another believer in crap videos on Youtube. Engineairs own power consumption charts show the range is horrible. A std dive tank using one of the 6hp motors is empty in 5 minutes. It has no future as was proved in the past. It's an OLD idea

seems like this is going back in time…why not run it on steam?
@fizzguts well idk wat u said somthin bout a tank full of stds and sliced bread?
Does he require support or money
Do you have the actually prototype car made and what it top speed

you don't have to, that's the difference between this and petrol. with petrol you have to burn a fuel to get power
But highly refined. MDI's air motor is most advanced ever built, and is nearly twice as efficient as the best steam engine.
OK, how do you compress the air? Electricity produced by burning coal?
I'm watching this and I just can't believe it!
I don't know weather to be happy these things actually work and exist or to be utterly sad about the human race being so rotten that we don't have these on the roads already!!
why is the sound so soft . meh .

@mikehanoo33
of course we do, how else will the rich get richer? sheeeeeeeesh

@DraRed73 As soon as the steam cools down, it stops being steam. You need to use it while it's still hot.

Pretty cool video
@tasvirukas This inefficient, short range technology is 200 years old and you are not doing enough research before posting moose drool
@fizzguts hahah this looks like an investor pitch vid

i hate the smell of propane forklifts!!!!! This is by far the coolest invention I've seen lately. So did this company take off???
brilliant!!!!
@Joe2PointOh
Maximum of 10% increase in range in stop start driving. At steady speed the extra weight causes a small range decrease.
A rotary engine with line contact sealing? Hmmm, …not practical in the long run…

awesome!
@thekaizer666 an electric / compressed-air hybrid car, cool! – One problem i can forsee might be that such car might be a bit heavy?
