The Police Station was Los Angeles Police Division, the insurance co was the LA Insurance. They said they couldn't get past San Pedro or Long Beach.
I don't believe they didn't have somebody covering the back way out of the motel. (Also, there were no oil derricks around Wrigley Field in Chicago.)

A better than average "B" rated movie with good acting and plot. Adele Jergens at her most beautiful. Fun to watch.
