DIY Solar River Raft 5 Days Camping
400 watts of solar panels, 8 rain barrels and a 40lb thrust trolling motor propelled us on our 5 day river adventure on the North Saskatchewan River. I brought along crazy neighbor and the two of us got stuck, caught fish, and had the adventure of a lifetime.

FYI – if u have a cuddy or a house boat – the law is like rv's – u can drink as long as u are anchored with no key in the ignition the last time i checked.
The fish you caught was a Mooneye or Goldeye.
lmao @ steve smack talkin the edmonton river boat sayin his little raft is better… sorry, I mean, Giant Majestic Raft fit for a King. Never change Steve, I love this channel, and you deserve all the success you've achieved. My heart goes out to you always, hope your adventures are always amazing, tell crazy neighbour we all love him as well 🙂
love the 'starting a fire with a flamethrower' trick
return to bleak river. someone's got to do it.
Looks like an amazing trip!
What? no Beer
I like how the city, with its deep river and bridge supports and people is, is more stressful than the middle of nowhere, where the grounding hazard is high.
How do you seed right up-to the edge of the Feild like like. 😮 carefully 😂😂😂😂❤❤
What yas need is a small generator for back up when the suns not out and for night time power would be less of an issue
Beautiful images floating down the river into the city
Need heavier ores ! lol looked fun as heck !
a year late for watching but better late than not 🙂
Why do they sell SOLAR PANELS in CANADA?! That's just MEAN! Like…RUB IT IN! Salt in a wound.
how much does it cost to get a set up like that steve? I know the jackery and solar panels are a little expensive I was looking at getting a set but the rest of the boat and motor?
Rewatching just to hang out with Steve and Crazy Neighbor!
Even though this is 2 yrs later I'm going to toss out an idea. As you were floating I thought if they has extra zip ties for re-tying it may have been possible to cut the panels lose on 3 side and used wood sticks to tip the panels 30°. Only you guys experiencing the float know how much the boat changes direction relative to the sun, just a thought
What river are you on?
With all that shallow water I'm surprised you guys didn't get out and do a little panning! What are brilliant ideal using their trolling motor that way it runs so quietly you can sneak right up on the wildlife! Hopefully you brought a few extra props with you just in case. My brother and I were stranded in the Ontario Bush for 2 days when we broke a prop and all of our gear was back at our island camp 13 miles away "UP" river. Needless to say it was a lot of shoreline walking pulling the boat along because we didn't bring the oars.
That to me was a river steelhead or a rainbow trout . I've fished for 40 plus years
Would this be considered trespassing?
Such a fun adventure! My dad and I did a few of these, cherished memories.
step 2's definitely in them plastic cups 😂. love you brother ❤
Tom and Huck!
Nice
How much gaystuff happened
Hooking up panels in parallel increases current, hooking them up in series increases voltage.
with all those beans you 2 should be able to hang your butts off the back and rocket propel to where you want to go… LOL
This one's one of the best. 🙂
