for the chrome why dont you use a wire wheel on impact driver to do it quicker ??
Fantastic transformation. I like that brown color, but if he repaints a different color, a dark chocolate brown with some gold metal flake would look good. I hope the car smells better now. It stunk just looking at the video before you started cleaning.
the car is a 1981-1982 i believe
Probably a 1974 just by the beauty rings but can't see if it had the rear seam since rear bumper is gone (only 1974 had the seam). 47 years it has sat ,roughly, and you aren't going to check the fuel tank and the gas that is probably varnish by now and the lines and suck that crap in the carb?????
Amazing work – so great to see a gorgeous old car being given the love it deserves. Keep it the original colour!!
I would leave the color.. You don’t see brown to often
So I watch both channels
I'd keep it the original color. It's unique
That whole interior, carpet, seats, door panels, consul and dash would have be replaced before I would drive it. Looking clean doesn’t mean sanitary. Nasty 😷
Awesome job guys!
very common problem with those bumpers it was due to bad plastic back them they make fiberglass replacements for them cars not worth trying to find nos bumpers
There used to be a HUGE mail-order automotive retailer back in the day called JC Whitney. They had a HUGE catalog (think – phonebook thickness) they'd send out to my Dad every so often back in the 80s and 90s. Wouldn't surprise me in the least if that's where the Vette owner bought the custom floor mats from.
RED
1969 model
Wow we have the same name rob!
Really enjoyed the video. I love doing this stuff! I think that color was used on 76-79?? Keep the color, just get new paint. The biggest little detail usually overlooked when refurbing vs. full resto on any of these old 'barn find' cars is the suspension bushings. The factory rubber bushings are often so dry rotted they are blown completely out. Brand new bushings, springs, and shocks make a huuuugge difference!
I absolutely love the C3 platform! Repaint it the exact factory code rootbeer brown with maybe a twist: metallic and/or heavy clear coat. Sweet vid!
I know it's not the best color. But please don't paint that car🙏
Leave it brown. Remind of a leather or suede jacket. What’s cooler than that?
76
If this is all original 70s stingray, I’ll keep the color and do your best to restore it not saying that you would resell it but I imagine it would probably be worth a good amount of money. I am excited to see the end result.
He should paint this car orange
1969 stingray corvet
Should leave it that color and put a UPS logo on the hood, would be funny as hell…
Little red Corvette
Leave as is
Holy moly, Batman, that is literally the description of polishing a turd. Now it’s just a shiny turd.
Worst color on ANY CAR EVER! A rolling terd.
Engines just wanna run.
1976 corvette
1972
Absolutely do not paint the color is what makes that car, classic.
same color or black ar maybe white
wow
factory color?
Not sure of the year but it is around when a dodge truck made more power.
I like the brown exterior I don't think I've ever seen it
Wow, this is my first video I’ve seen of your channel! Hard work man, but what a change. What gloves are you using and what vacuum are you using..Thanks!
If I was forced to change color then I would make it silver.
Oh by the way you should never start a car that has been sitting up with old gas in the tank, it tends to turn into a varnish like jelly.
Just scanned Robbys page and not video of him rebuilding the pretty stingray……. sad.
Looks like my old 68 that i had after high school. Sold it for $1500 around 1973 to my brother-in-law. Bought it for $800 from a friend who worked at a salvage yard rebuilt 327 and pop out windows.
The value is keeping paint original. I would not change color
metallic green or like the golden nugget
Paint it dark blood red with tan caramel interior, similar to what Dave Kindig would choose,or keep it ORIGINAL 😊
Sparkle dark blue!
yes, it will start.
