Camping may not seem impactful at times, but it’s a great feature that has a lot of usage such as healing, buffs, scouting and the like.

26:03 it's called "bandits sense" as in like someone with "common sense" like he has the sense to do something smart and protecting the group by setting up a tripwire to alert them to intruders.
35:09 okay, how did I never notice that connection between the Occultist and Shambler?! Seriously, first there was "Thrice-Damned" Mizir, then the two of them fighting in his backstory in 2…
I always make a point to use Gallows Humor before any other stress heals, since the RNG on it determines what you should do from there.
Of course there was that one time when it stressed all 3 of my allies, that wasn't great…
I’m not sure if anyone stated this yet, but you can use medicinal herbs to get rid of the -2 speed on the Arbalest/Musketeer buffs much like how you can for the Hellion ability.
If you need to strees heal with a Jester at camp, then you are doing a bad job with Jester or you are in a lvl 5 cove
"This Is How We Do It" – Montell Jordan
"Night Moves" – Bob Seger
"Every Rose Has It's Thorn" – Poison
Any other music buffs pick up on this?
Second comment for the algorithm
I dislike Sanctuary, because Vestal is, by design, not supposed to let anyone hit Death’s Door, and therefore it is v occasional that there’s 3 heroes with mortality, let alone 1. I don’t think I’ve ever had a vestal and mortality debuffs ever; could be my luck thought.
B tier, I recognize the usefulness, but argue it is reactive
Let me tell you a small story that might make sanctuary a better thing
I'm on Bloodmoon with the 2nd mission(first time!!) of the last location with Vestal, Highwayman, Houndmaster, Occultist(their positioning is respective to the order that I put it in) and then Occultist dies way too early after the first miniboss and all 3 of my surviving characters have reached death's door and I'm all out of food. I then set up camp and use Sanctuary which just absolutely SAVES everyone. In a scenario like that when a mission is going horribly wrong but you seriously think you can still beat it, Sanctuary is an absolute life-saver!!
Also funny note: all 3 of my characters wound up being virtuous(cuz I like bringing Tentacle idol and ring) and beat the other 2(3) minibosses by just spamming divine comfort, grapeshot blast and hound's harry. It might sound insane but RNG does crazy things sometimes.
What is your opinion on Flag only having access to his 4 camping skills?
Top 10: Marching Plan, Tactics, Snuff Box, Tiger's Eye, Hound's Watch, Reflection, Nightmoves, Sharpen Spear, Dark Strength & Trinket Scrounge. S-Rank: Anger Management, The Quickening, Strange Powders, Restring Crossbow / Clean Musket, This Is How We Do It, Planned Takedown, Stand Tall, Zealous Speech, Lash's Cure, Lash's Solace, Gallows Humor, Battle Trance, Revel, Unparalleled Finesse, Clean Guns, Bandit's Sense, Bloody Shroud, Weapon's Practise, Dark Ritual, Leeches, The Cure.
i would love to see a team tier list which team setup is the best
Can't wait for that tier list of tier lists
9:32 that's 2 hands, the top one is a closed fist on top of the open palm one on the bottom, kekw
You say numbers fast to sound sexy… and it works
Skills that have a benefit for afflicted heroes should always work. Otherwise the benefit is not a benefit.
Me, wanting to use Antiquarian in the next dungeon for sweet cash: Curious Incantation + 3 Pep Talks at like 50 stress
Cultist Witch: first off thats really rude
Jester: haha ting tiddly ting ting ting
Edit: I would argue +40 stress move for Flag is excellent due to what you mentioned with Anti, where the enemies will begin to focus him down! Rapturous is bad, don’t get me wrong, but if anyone is going to afflict, you want it to be him. I would say Long dungeon use; easy C-B tier for situational, but effective use.
Alot of the worse skills you can make an argument for, Like +40 stress lash for abusing the game to focus him, and Pray, because while the religious heroes CAN heal themselves, do you really want to be pushing those buttons? Pray is proactive, meaning you can push better buttons, you can Exanguinate and take advantage of low HP flag, Crusaders -25 stress means he can hit his better buttons instead, and can stall heal others like Flag instead of himself.
Chant is still absolute garbage though
This Is How We Do It is the funniest camp skill to me because Bounty Hunter only buffs himself. He's going over these plans like "okay, this is how we're going to do it" but nobody else is listening and he's just psyching himself up.
soooo… who's gonna try sb and three hellions spamming breakthrough?
Tactics is GOAT.
Lash's Anger is the worst. You're better off hitting Rest with a point unspent. It's pure penalty.
"The burden must be borne by all!" SMACK! Vestal is at Death's door.
At 42:50 with vestals "religous" characters I believe that God fearing characters are considered religious despite the character being non religious and vice versa with faithless on religious making them non religious
Abilities: Gives any stats
Shuffle: "It's S-tier"
Awaiting "How good are provisions?"
feel like unparalleled finesse is just the best camp skill
I think a list like this for all the combat skills in the game would be cool, too!
I don’t understand how you don’t put all the prevent nighttime ambush camp skills at S+ tier, because they’re the skills you HAVE to press at every camp right?? Every other skill is optional but you can’t not press prevent nighttime ambush?
Sanctuary has saved my party in 2nd Darkest Dungeon. Three dudes were low hp with mortality debuffs and Vestal was like: "Can we talk about our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ? " And entire party is patched up and level was completed two fights later. Incredibly situational camp skill, but when it works – it's SSS tier
Quirk tier list, perhaps one list for negative and one for positive!
43:30 Mix of avoidance and acc.
The one time I conciously pressed that button was when I had an SB with the Natural quirk and no quirks or trinket to increase ACC.
As for Vestal getting the words skills, well she also gets the only two skills that people might argue as mandatory.
Yay campskills tier list!~ always enjoy your videos help me improved my darkest dungeons runs
Next up: Jewel tier list???
Not a very long one but i think it'd be cool. But it ever happens, i know EXACTLY where citrine is going (spoilers: F Tier)
In a weird twist of fate, Sandstorm is fantastic for a zone you rarely camp in. The court. You put Sandstorm on your squishy or your dedicated back liner who can’t be marked/stressed/pulled ( by the sycophants enraging slight ) and the courtesans. You could maybe get away with it general Warrens or Weald thanks to the Fungal Artillery, maybe, but yeah it’s a very niche card to play.
I use mockery to virtue check during camping in endless, I dont think it has uses outside of that but I think that that makes it B tier at minimum
These ones are always a pleasant watch, though at this point what remains of tier lists that are still serious? Curio tier list? Item tier list? At what point is it going too far to the point of parody?
Oh, I also believe Tiger's eye actually only hits one companion unless my memory doesn't serve me well and the Wiki is lying.
Tier list idea: pozitive/negative quirks
Here is truth about camping skills. I almost always take heroes to dungeon because I like team composition and camping skills are secondary to me. Certain heroes are good in certain location or they create good combo with other heroes. I don't look too much at camping skills when I choose team. Saying that, you posted another very good video mate. 👍
Not directly related, but you make it a constant talking point that arb "doesn't need accuracy", can you explain this to me? Characters don't seem to have a base accuracy mod, as it is entirely skill dependant. Sniper shot has 115 acc @ level 5. There are lots of backline enemies that have around 40 dodge, giving her a 75% chance to hit (for example.) Assuming my math is correct here and the game isn't different than I assume, why would you not like a bump to accuracy in many cases?
9:45 It is a fist and hand, both gloved, hand on bottom with fist hitting it from above. Like a hand motion to emphasize "this is how we do it"
i still press sanctuary everytime i have no other option to prevent ambush and to me it's S just because of that
on the other hand, diseases never prevented me from successfully completing a mission and i probably could count on one hand the number of times i have cured them during camp so i don't value those abilities that much
i always press tactics and weapons practice unless i have unparalleled finesse or need stress healing
Can't wait for the tierlist tierlist.
Also Grave Robber and Highwayman have Gallows Humor because they were both in prison/sentenced to death by hanging.
Unparalleled Finesse not top 10???? Dismas is gonna get angry at you for sure
CRITCRITCRITCRIT
Not exactly a tier list, but I would actually be interested in hearing your thoughts on each of the afflictions and virtues, which ones are the worst and best to get and perhaps a per character basis.
I believe you considered most of the skills in their best possible scenario. Like Revel that is amazing in the end of a dungeon but close to useless if you're forced to camp earlier.
I believe that is the reason why there so many high tier skills
You're gonna become the northenlion of darkest dungeon with all these tierlists
