I like the cars Scotty dislikes.
So Scotty, what IS the worst car ever made?
We replaced the radiator on a Jetta. What a nightmare! Like BMW, to get to the radiator, you have the nose of the car, off the car! Volkswagen allows the dealership mechanic, 12 hours labor to replace the radiator in a Jetta. Doing a radiator on a Rogue is another huge task, just to change a radiator. All calipers on any Volkswagen, will need replacement often. My original calipers on my 25yr old Toyota still retract like new, when I replace pads. Just saying. Before you buy a Volkswagen.
The lady in the backseat 😄
Scotty is the perfect car guy to watch when you know nothing about cars
My stupid son got sucked in with VW Golf 2003 S(think it means sport ) somehow he cracked the sump (alloy no guard ) & also had a brake booster go faulty .couldn't get a booster (finally got a used one) had to buy aSST to remove the pedal from the booster (inside the car under the dash)took me 1 hr to get that off .Had to pull the motor out to get the sump off then take the gearbox off to get 2 bolts off .Broke a vacuum line had to buy the complete vacuum line system $60 aud took me 7 days to reassemble it & then there was a stupid complicated brake bleeding process (it has ABS )to complex to describe here.Couldn't find any data through ALL DATA for it .Finally found out it was only sold in South Africa. I finally gave up & walked away . He then sold it to a guy who rebuilds old VWs don't know what happened to it after that.
Nice pretty lady in the back seat
That’s why the German lost WWII
I guess I was lucky with my 2009 Rabbit with 5 speed manual. Bought new and drove for 10 years 265,000 miles no problems. 2.5 5 cylinder kind of coarse but never left me stranded. Used for work and drove it everywhere.
Even new toyota have that,
TSB engine droning noise corolla chr auris 8nr fts 1.2T
Vacuum regulating pump replacement
The (ongoing) moral is clearly (for the person of "average" means) to avoid buying & owning newer cars in general, & especially certain newer cars in specific, because the cost & complexity is absurd.
This moral may not apply to lawyers, doctors, celebrities & others who have much greater than "average" means, unless said individuals have common sense & consideration regarding the economic value of their personal transportation vehicle.
Vw makes some absolute crap. Especially 1998-2008 era. Mk4 chassis specifically
Scotty, have you ever thought that maybe the problem is in the USA cause in Europe is not so expensive to fix a VW, you don’t pay 1800$ to change a vacuum brake in Europe and what’s more they are reliable cars, so I don’t agree with your judgment, of course things can go wrong with any cars and no matter what their repairs never come cheap cause the reasons are simple a lot of mechanics take customers for a ride and please don’t tell me that this is not true.
Then again so are plumbers electricians builders the all world are screwing one another.
I must agree entirely that cars nowadays have far to much high tech which eventually will go wrong but that’s what people want let them have it I still drive an old Mercedes w210 e320 cdi and I will drive it to the ground or viceversa cause do you know what it drives and drives and drives non stop.
Who's the babe in the back seat?
Funny at 3:59, we in the UK think that US made BMW's are terrible!
I've owned only these maintain and service them regular no issues really. Sometimes you get a bad egg.
My company boss insists on VW we have four in our fleet they all have faults, two of them have the same fault which after spending much money the fault cannot be rectified, the heater system will not get warm/ hot on a cold day, I have to wear a large coat and gloves
I am disappointed that you did not bring a 2002+ BMW 🤣🤣
A K&N Air filter blew up my Jetta.
When I got my licence I brought a 1962 vw beetle. Fixed it .fitted 911 porsche kit manage to buy formula v engine . This little fast car was a chick magnet. Had so many good times and fun loved it.
My volkswagen is a money pit. No thanks im scrapping it
HAND GESTURES!!!!!!!!!!!
It's a MK5 Jetta. You act like it's a Lambo.
German Taco 😂 people here in San Antonio won’t like that 😂
Im not a mechanic and don’t want to be but all the people I knew of over the years with this vw had problems I loved my big and the only problem it ever had was that I was 15 driving with a learners permit and had more testosterone than sense when it came to caring about one’s first car aww memories multiple police reports insurance companies getting on a payment plan with me before I would get my license back aww to be young and dumb. True story apparently I had to learn just about everything the hard way back then but I did learn so there is that lmao sighhh talk about being your own worst enemy cheeses and crackers even😜
I’m no mechanic but the ford fairmount the only brand new car my mother ever bought popped in my head first it was a P O S to say the least but I’m sure there are many more. The BACK to the future movie( forget the name of that short lived won’t go 70 mph car that was around for2- 3 years at most if I trust my memories ( GULP😮)
Volkswagen Jetta Chihuahua Edition
Does anyone want any German Tacos 😂
So is it the worst car ever made only because the owner was ripped off by the shop for one repair?
We owned an early production 1999 1/2 "New Jetta" built in Puebla. It had normal vacuum brake boost. The vacuum lines were hard plastic tubing on barbed fittings, and one split near the end. The factory part was sold as an assembly for hundreds, but I fixed it with a NAPA hose for $13.00. We kept it for 18 years and 160,000 miles with no major repairs at all. We got rid of it when it started having electrical problems and other plastic parts started getting brittle and breaking. The motor and the five speed trans were still going strong. My wife doesn't put on many miles, so it was dying of old age.
VW puts the worst plastic parts in the deepest part of the engine so when the cheap part breaks to access it and replace it takes 1k of labor
Scotty that’s not what a PTcruiser looks like.
I had one that looked just like that and I was not impressed.
3:22 thats ridiculous. My friend had a 90's passat wolfsburg edition and it sure was made in wolfsburg.
My friend had a huge cam in his old camaro with a 427,he ran a electric fuel pump for the engine and used the mechanical fuel pump as a vacuum pump to provide extra needed vacuum for the power brakes when the engine didn't produce enough to assist them., it worked great and cost about $20
