Should have made a camera system that can cover the whole car 360 front back sides see if some is trying to rob it
Does it record continuous while driving or I have to manually activate the recording session?
Take a fluke multimeter, read the port for 12vdc & GND to identify pin placement, simulate OBD2.
I'll wait for version 2.
Just pre-ordered mine. Thank You 😊
Does it display vehicle speed, GPS and date/time on the recordings?
What are the framerates/FPS values of each camera? 60 FPS would be great!
So you're going to charge $200 now and to entice people you're giving them an ultimatum by saying it will go up to $250 in a few weeks? Great business strategy. And i agree with many people, when it comes to being in a moving vehicle, it needs to be at least 1440, 1080 is not enough
Way better than having 1 or more Gopro or insta 360s. I just wished it had 180° on both sides
does this record continuously (100% of the time) while driving / in motion? how much internal storage does the camera have, and is there a storage limit on the subscription plan?
Amazing, ring team. Amazon always innovate and simplify things
Please use a battery that doesn’t over heat in Texas sun like the Owl dash cam did!
So the camera itself has memory to store footage.
But exactly how much space?
Yeah but still waiting for the RING drone home…. I don't understand why it's not here for purchase in Europe or USA.
Looks nice! while driving around , how many minutes does the camera record constantly before it overwrites itself?
The only bad thing about it is that’s it’s supper visible instead of hidden in the top like others. Definitely would not purchase
Wish the mount wasn’t on top of the dash, also they should come up with a camera for back of the car as well
FINALLY, someone is doing it!! I can’t wait to see what more they can do for cars
@ring will it also work with a hardwire kit?
Not a fan of the mounting solution. Also the legality of the location is also a concern.
Hey Ring can I just plug the usb c into a car usb charger?? Does it have to connect to the obd
bought asap
Thank you Ring. I have pre-ordered RING CAR CAM! Currently I have a VAVA Dash Cam that records to MicroSD Card. Connecting the VAVA app has been a pain: “look for WIFI Vava…” I would have to this every time I got in my car. Forget it!
I own three RING cameras and enjoy the App plus Ecosystem. I trust this will be an awesome product and enjoyable to use:)
looks cool, though it seems a higher mount is preferable
Finally
how does it connect to the internet if it's inside the car.
does this record speed and time as well like other dashcams?
Is the cellular built into the unit to be able to record and send notifications?
Show actual video recordings in different scenarios. We need to see the quality. And 1080p isn't enough to capture details like license plates.
Why Alexa? Isn't that Amazon?
Will this camera record the back of my car ?
Nice But… this video showcases the design and not how clearly I can ID License Plate Numbers, Which is the only reason for a dash cam. Except Millennial IG'rs that need content.
So what about rear of car
Epic
Don’t like the placement of the camera. Looks like it could cause the windshield to break if impacted from the front. Also $200 is a very steep price for low resolution and no rear view cam. Plus you still have to pay mi they for the subscription to hold all the files.
Finally
My concern is the mounting point. It its right in the middle of the dashboard. That's a no-no according to California law. And i could get cited. My dash cams are mounted overhead so it doesn't interfere with peripheral vision
