Introducing the all-new Volkswagen ID Buzz!
It’s a family-friendly people carrier that’s out to buck the trend of MPVs being ugly and uncool. The question is, has it been successful?
Well for starters, let’s check out the design, where it’s clear to see that the ID Buzz easily stands out among the crowd! Not only does it look great in this two-tone paint job, but there are a number of exterior features that help enhance its look and feel even more. Around the back, you’ve got wrap-around tail lights and a full-length light bar along with a mini spoiler. There are big creases all along the side, and the wrap-around headlights up top mirror what you see around the back. There’s also a super cool grille design, coupled with the largest VW badge in its entire range!
The good looks continue on the inside, too. There’s the option to have the same two-tone design as found outside, and there are a number of cool little features on the dash and in the door pockets that really lift the look and feel. The dash has a big infotainment screen, although the system isn’t that great. On the flip side, though, the interior is packed full with loads of different storage areas.
When it comes to performance, the ID Buzz comes with a single electric motor driving the rear wheels to deliver 204hp. It comes with a 77kWh battery pack which is good for a claimed range of 258 miles. A dual-motor edition is on the way, too, which will be good for 299hp.
All-in-all the ID Buzz will start from £57,000. But what do you think – is it worth it? Or does it just look a bit too weird for your liking? Let us know in the comments!

Looks like a Chinese pug
60K?
Is it made of solid GOLD?
Looks like A shit £50k+ mystery machine
Ice scraper on a vehicle that can preheat……or does it?
I seen one of these on the road yesterday for the first time and I couldn't believe my eyes.
It was without a doubt one of the most ugliest vehicles that I have ever seen 👀😂😂
It's almost great but still.. the alloys are super boring. They should have pushed the design and been more courageous. And for 60k there are a LOT of choices. I'd buy a second hand 911 and roofbox for that price.
With that interior combo it definitely isnt for families especially with kids lol
The name of that German town 😂
57K ??? OMG !!! 😲
It is really a great VAN ! I also Review it a few days ago and i was impress
… and that rear bench and "life fraud" ahem, I mean "life board" is total crap. It robs so much boot space versatility. Just cheap and lazy
The material quality looks shockingly poor for a £50k+ product. Example: The glove box is unlined and you just now its going to make a row with stuff in it. The door bins and general plastics are wank. Just like the capacitive controls
I remember seeing the concept for this a few years back and thinking oh that's A cool looking car and then they deliver this hideous monstrosity of an old classic
Thanks Matt, things like the door seal jamming out when closing the back door is the things i want to know when buying a vehicle at this price!! And you are the only person that would show things like that 👍
Beg to differ. Ioniq5 definitely has as much character, Mach-E and the EV6 look better and the E-Transit will give it a good run for it's money.
There should be a tech model which should have bigger screen for speedo console and the driver should have a cockpit like seating with all sort of ADAS features . Tech model should have all the gizmos and gadgets in it for the tech savy gen.The other one should be a vintage looking model which holds its true DNA .
IPace doesn’t come to halt unless you are using the adaptive cruise control
Also if you brake whilst the car is slowing down on cruise control it snatches quite abruptly, I guess because there is a weakness in the brake integration for both issues, not an issue once one is aware
The ugly range issue is really up-front here. 215 real-world miles actually equates to 70% of that (charge to 80%, deplete to >10% to keep your battery from wearing out quickly), which is only…150 miles. Unless longer trips are not in your plans, or you can charge at home overnight, that's not exactly stellar for a people carrier. Maybe the next version? They could then fix that second-seat ventilation problem (not a small issue) and put some real thought into the controls interface!
Random question: what's Matt's watch face at 17:00 called?
how can it kill suv? it doesnt have enough ground clearance to do so..if u mean kill EV or kill mpv maybe ok
Id have the Buzz in anything but that Horrible Brown Colour
VW have gone downhill so much.
I love my mk 7.5 gti, no stupid touch/haptic buttons.
I hate the name ID Buzz… they should have gave it a less cringy name.. E-Bus , ID Bus
did anybody else notice that on the maps there is a place called wank
How much do you want to scream and clip the mic?
Matt: Yes.
VW managed build this new bus with the same quality of the original 1960’s bus
"Can someone else do this, I'm bored"?! That was innapropriate…you got slaves or what?
Odd decision for VW to start with the short version, it's a people carrier that can't carry people. Might as well go for a Touran at a third of the price.
Great car despite some disappointing aspects ie The infotainment. But as with all EVs very expensive particularly now they will suffer from VED and the luxury car levy. Would be good to know what delivery waiting times might be!
As always the best review yet… 🙂
A drum roll to introduce your fart… Isn't that a good thing 😄😄
I like the color combo.
will tell my father to buy it
Interior looks like a 60s American diner
please add metric system for estimate range
Looks like last 2 generation of Toyota Previa/Estima.
You can't give a VW away in the U.S, they are notorious for their terrible quality control. So there are few dealerships left and very few independent garages that will touch them. They haven't had a good selling car since the original beetle on this side of the pond. I just recently retired from the auto parts business and we have a VW plant in our state, but you rarely see one the road (probably because the electrical system has failed). This micro bus is insanely over priced, compared to just about any other mini van.
