I gotta give props. You've built an entire audience and platform to give daily updates that real inflation > MACRS Depreciation.

Car prices keep going up because inflation is a higher % increase than amplification is a % decrease. I look forward to 700 more episodes to explain this.

Why anyone would hand a dealer 5k plus over MSRP that is not Ridiculously rich or incredibly desperate for a car is beyond me. These dealers are gouging and until people start saying no way it’s going to continue

Troy Turner

chip manufacturers are synthetically choking the supply to dealers who are also themselves synthetically choking inventory and builds to raise the price, allow for "market adjustments", and other unethical reasons. They are also taking this time to really measure demand so they can continue to choke the market in the future as needed. This will continue, imo, for at least a year so dealers and companies understand market fluctuation seasonally and by brand. This will raise prices for high demand vehicles and lower price and quality for vehicles in lower demand – adjusting how those vehicles are built and WHERE they are built. This is an opinion and possibly the wrong one. But if youre in the market for a car, be PICKY or get out of the market fast (go the Dae ramsey route and get a clunker).

Very frustrating to hear and see ya'll say the EXACT things I said would happen MONTHS ago when ya'lls only response to one of my comments was "thank you for your opinion." when everything I've said is based on supply chains, COGS, and factual economics.

Low inventory is bad for everyone including the dealers and manufacturers. If Honda Acura Toyota or Lexus had inventory on the lot I would be buying a car in the next few weeks. I can't even test drive the vehicles I'm interested in right now.

I bought a 2021 Equinox LT for a lil over 26,000 brand new in 2021 during all the shortage I will ride this bs out in it until things came back to realistic pricing even if it’s a few more years!

jeremy linton

these guys are constantly flip flopping

D G

pretty sure honda could build that inventory up to 300k again……if they WANTED to. it's all by design

D G

who tf is still buying cars at these prices? people need to boycott for real

TERM LIMITS FOR CONGRESS & THE ELIMINATION OF LOBBYISTS will solve many of our nation's problems! The executive branch has term limits. Why in the hell don't Reps and Senators not have term limits! This shouldn't be a lifelong career!

New and used prices are going to crash soon

Gents, won’t the manufacturer who decides to ramp up production and actually carry inventories at reasonable prices be the one who wins out? I mean, providing they’re offering a good quality product of course.
I don’t know about most consumers – but if I need a car, I’m not going to be thrilled at the fact that a) I can only order it b) there is absolutely zero negotiation and c) that I’ll have to wait almost a year to receive it.
I suppose if all dealers/manufacturers agree to move toward this “on-demand” model they’d all be fine, but I suspect the car buying public is starting to catch up to the games they’re playing, and I don’t think dealers of manufacturers want to feel the wrath of consumers.
I agree with your idea of getting partially back to pre-COVID models, while not over producing, alleviating the problem of too much excess inventory on-hand.
I’m not in the car business, but love cars and love buying cars. Many of my friends are also car guys, and they’re about as annoyed and fed up with dealers jacking the hell out of prices and ripping off consumers as well. We all discuss the fact that when we do buy our next vehicles, this ongoing scam will likely be in the backs of our minds during the whole process! At least I’m now, thanks to you equipped to better negotiate a fair price as well as tell the finance person to quit badgering me for the items I don’t need!

If all existing mfrs are too expensive, some alternative will appear.

Toldya, this series is sponsored by the dealer industry. I see they ditched the dealership backdrop though.

Manolo Califas

don't buy any new cars and they will go bust; just like housing market is now.

Valerie Zamora

How about BMW 8 series?

Boni_ Traxton

I paid almost $3500 for a 1996 Ford Taurus from a buy here pay here dealer it had 140,000 an the odometer broke, dash was peeling and everything. But then repair after repair i spent like $2000

Long story short…..it died on me two weeks ago an sold to scrap for $300

VideoArchiveGuy

If you don't want to sign the agreement stating you will not resell the vehicle, DON'T BUY FROM THEM.

It's a free country, no one can FORCE YOU to buy from THEM.

Nice to see you enjoying your Father while you can. Do not waste a moment young man…

jeremy pearson

Consumers actually control the market not the manufacturers. If the public used more sense and kept their vehicles longer, dealerships would be forced to drop prices due to lack of demand. This applies to both new and used cars. Too many people want to keep up with the Joneses instead of being financially responsible.

dan mahoney

I have three Hondas in my family, I gave them first shot at my business but you can’t get even a test drive. Plus the cars the dealer has, used, they try to will you know what a shit show it is. Tesla had a chip problem too, they rewrote the firmware and used new chips and away they went. Honda what the hell are you doing? Do you want to go out of business?

jimmyglea

These guys are schizophrenic. One minute the price of new cars is going to drop dramatically, the next minute they’re not dropping at all. It just goes to show that even the supposed “experts” don’t know what the hell is going on.

chris o'keeffe

If a car dealership will not negotiate i would walk away. Ther are plenty of other cars and dealerships out there that will.

Ron Steitz

I really don’t care as there are plenty of Used Cars to buy.👍

Abhijit Bose

I would like to buy a new sedan under 25k including dealership markups. What options do I have?

David Wooten

It drives the used market pricing too.

Once democrats are out of office and miraculously there are chips again (what a coincidence) for the cars and cars are back in the market because they are not limiting and destroying fossil fuels in the background then all of a sudden this will be corrected

PHUC YOU

Ford did not report in 2020 because of the lockdowns causing chip shortages making all their vehicles for 2021 99% done.. they rented large areas of property for storage remember?

TheJeffShadowShow

I just bought an $8,000 retail value 2005 Buick LeSabre Custom (75,925 miles) from Copart for $2,400. It is a pure donation and runs fine. Also, in mint condition. That's how you can save money on a great used vehicle.

This Florida Girl

They probably have no interest in raising inventory

sp one

This is why they need to put a cap on donated campaign funds..

Don't Buy any CARS

DavesTVWatching

Does anyone think that scooters and other automatic equipped motorcycles will save the American transportation problem?

👍👍😎✌️🤟 Best Senators money can buy!
