UK Mountain Tarn Wild Camping with Andy Wardle in STRONG WINDS & 4 Season Tents
I team up with Andy Wardle for a collaboration wild camp. We head to the Western Fells of the Lake District National park to an idyllic mountain tarn. A few (hundred) beers in hand, we hike to the summit with ridiculously heavy packs and find a place to pitch the tents. Lots of rain over the last few days meant suitable pitches were few and far between. A group advised us there were no suitable places to put the tents, but experience prevailed and we soon found the only suitable pitch and had the spot all to ourselves.
Andy camped in the Hilleberg Soulo Black Label and I used the Tarptent Scarp 1. The winds were wild and gusting throughout the night but the tents are designed to withstand much worse conditions, so proved to be the trusty shelters that they’re renowned for.
We swapped tales of the outdoors, life and shared many beers together. Andy also enjoyed the opportunity to answer some questions which some viewers had kindly submitted, so thanks for that.
A top night out with a great bloke and fellow wild camping enthusiast!

Loved the Q&A session. Andy's wild camping beginning reminds me of camping in a garden as a kid (and still do), there used to be a permanent brown patch on my Dad's lawn over the summer where we had pee'd out the tent door. He could never figure it out.
Chris, you did a better job of hiding the slurring than Andy. The horror is, if the Wardle just drinks 6 cans on a Saturday, then nowt in the week, then I AM drinking more than him!
Well done getting a pitch there, looked wetter than a submarines number plate. Legends both of you.
Just up behind you is a shelf where you can fit 2 tents in, doesn't matter beer cures all 🍻😉
Great to see you 2 out together. Hopefully a rich vein of collabs can come from this as the blend works
Looked like a top camp Chris. You were lucky with that pitch, looked a bit soggy up there. Great video mate 👍
Hi again. Sorry but I am not getting your notifications anymore. They have been turned though.
Great Video and great collab! Thoroughly enjoyed it. Looked freezing mind!!! Get your Wizard's sack oot!!!
Nice one mate…👍👍Festive Star is my absolute favourite – cracking selection from Mr Wardle there too, not sure I'd want to carry it though 😬😬 – top watch as always! T🙂
Nice one Chris great vid mate.
Loved you boys together you must go out again 👍

It is a nice pub inside and outside and great to see you and Andy out together on a camp. Really pleased you showed Andy's pack and how heavy it was as I have previously always thought he had a Sherpa out of shot carrying all his gear, as he always has 'everything' on a camp yet his pack did not seem that big. Been in Dubs Hut many a time but never fancied stayed there before and really enjoyed the Q&A but disappointed Andy never did the steak on this camp but as exotic as usual with his meal selection. Ohh long time since I have seen a newt, something we used to catch as kids when we were out. Great morning to wake up to and a very enjoyable to watch to be honest, cheers Alan
This was brilliant 👏 loved it👍
So that’s what that flap on the glove is for?! Excellent selection of ales and two great tents! Fabulous mate!
Great video. I've just subscribed to Andy👍
Nice one Chris/Andy tough climb from the car but a lovely area, I’m loving the BL Soulo too 🤔 Good few beer, good crack and a top adventure, what more can you ask for 👍
Great video Chris 👍🏻
cracking night out…
😁👍
He only drinks on a Saturday that wardle 😂
Great combo together you two 🙌
I was waiting for you to say im water logged haha, bit too close for comfort for my liking. I like that tent of yours too. Cant knock a soulo either like. Grat vid as always, and will see you soon 🙂
Funny as, nice one lads. 🙂
Really enjoyed that one, great location, great conversation, doing it the right way as always.
Great vid Chris, nice to see my two favourite utubers together, Im from the same place as Andy being a fellow Geordie, I actually see him going to work in his van most days. Must of been a right laugh off vid with Wardle, he gave me a tip once when I turned up at a yard he was working in, I was wearing Berghaus gaters, he told me wellies were better, he was right. Thanks Chris, lovely vid mate 👍
Outstanding video and very useful info as usual, cheers, keep it up 🙂
Brilliant Chris. Bet that was a laugh. Going to watch the Wardle version now
YT really need to up their game with smart TVs. Just refine the app a little and make it easier. It's annoying when it doesn't show links and makes it an effort to thumbs up you! Cracking camp and perfect tents for it. I thought you were going to have water rising with that wind.. And was a good morning to wake up to calmer weather. Loved it
Great video Chris. Looked like brilliant fun. Love the look of that scarp. Totally agree it would be my pick over the akto 👌
Is Andy single, If he needs a cuddle in his sleeping bag, baggies me first.❤️❤️❤️
Brilliant video Chris. Had many a pint after a days walking at the Scafell Hotel. Sitting on the grass under the tree opposite where you’re sitting.
Ahhhhhh canny this like. 2 gadgies, a moontin and some beer, whats not to like!
SERIOUS question here, and I've always wondered, what are those 2 little straps you get on glove fingers for?? There's only usually 2 of them. Can anyone shed any light on the matter?? Enquiring minds would like to know.
