My personal pick is a C6 Z06. Though not as cheap as the above options, certainly one I consider cheap considering its performance and one of my beloved favorites.

Lincoln Mark 8. Hear me out, I have 3 good reasons.
-4.6 4V same as the famous mauraders and some cobra mustangs of the late 90s early 2000s
-essentially cheaper then any other V8 rwd car from the modern era. Literally the best one is only worth like 10k
-Luxurious and reliable

Couple facts about them few know. Set a land speed record in the 90s at like 180 plus mph and lincoln management never wanted to advertise it. Also unlike the Thunderbirds or even mustangs of the era they used a lot of aluminum and are surprising light at like 3700lbs

I’m veryyyy surprised an e36 was only mentioned once. Definitely a superior car compared to everything else mentioned

It would be the 2021 Ford Mustang EcoBoost HPP with the Handling package, 6 speed manual. You can't get better performance, better feel and a more pure driving experience for the money that can handle the track with no modifications from stock. I would bet money on it. I own it. No really, I own the car.

Miatas are so fucking boring to daily. Theere are so much better options you can get a c5z06 for around 20k and it's already all sorted and doesn't cost you tons of money to make faster. A Porsche 944 is so much more fun than a Miata to drive and cheaper (if anyone wants to trade a 944 for a Miata I have two can go without 1)

I own a 1996 Saab 9000 Aero in BC Canada, 5 speed manual, Factory Recaro seats, 0-60 is 5.5-6.5 Seconds, Lots of tourque! Absolutely amazing handling, brilliant engineering & an insanely sturdy and safe car. For me it's one of the greatest cars ever built & many others seem to think so! I somehow got an Aero for $3,750 CAD So like 2K USD. Obliterates 30-40,000+ Modern day sports cars in corners/back roads.

Definitely agree with some of these picks too, especially the Triumph TR6, Mitsubishi 3000GT, Although the VR4 isn't all that cheap, 996 Is amazing aswell.

Miata Miata Miata, Man can you imagine how much more fun life is gonna be for these people when they learn it was just a cheap knock off of a far better car that gave E types, Miura's and Ferrari's a run for their money in the 60's, the Lotus Elan Sprint, the car Gordon Murry took as inspiration for his BMW Powered Supercar, as that is the thing about the Japs, they always took someones better product, coppied it and made it worse in every respect

like they make good stuff, but if you want a Miata for men, take a C4 and turn it into a vette cart

E36 didn’t come up enough, especially compared to Miatas because you see them at track events equally as often. It’s likely because people think only of the M3 which is not cheap anymore.

What S2000s or 996s are cheap? I'll buy them all!

2nd gen Rx7… easy similar to the miata with front engine rwd with near 50/50 weight distribution.
