Hi Sir,I'm from Assam and thankyou for covering this news.Those 600Years were the most glorious years of Assam's history.Charaideo was the first Ahom Capital,the word Charaideo is basically pronounced as Che-Rai-Doi in our Ahom language. Che means town,Rai means Shining and Doi means mountain….That means A shining town on hill top.And a request to everyone,please read about Ahom and Assam history. Everyone knows about Jodha bai but no one really knows about Ramani Gabharu,daughter of Ahom king Jayadhvaj singha,also known as Rahmat Banu Begum after her convertion to Islam.When Mir Jumla took her to Mughal imperial Harem at the age of six.Later married to Azam Shah. Everyone knows about Mastani begum,but no one interested knowing about Joymoti,wife of Gadadhar singha.Who sacrificed her life in the most inhuman way possible to save her Husband….So please do research and read about Our glorious Ahom history.
