I'm sorry, (I am injecting my incredulity here) but there is no way that Jon was legit.

dear jon, sorry to tell that you're wrong about Sodom and Gomorrah. i live in Israel and made some trips to the dead sea, some of the trips even with guide. there is there a place named "Sodom" but it's just salt mountains and beautiful caves but by no means a city in ruins; you can't find there a tiny human artifact. as for "Gomorrah," no place like that in all Israel and i don't know if there is in the world

Wait. So… there's a christian out there trying to rebuild the tower of Babel? A christian? Has he… read the story? Does he really need someone to remind him what supposedly happened the first time?

Long Castle

Just discovered your channel by way of Paulogia. Have been going through a lot of your channel content and really enjoying it. Also, looked ahead and see you are continuing to make videos — so hopefully your recovery from surgery is going well…. Appreciate the work you are doing.

Matt

GG!

Doom & Gloom

Who is that former friend he keeps talking about

Brent A

Matt: you don't seem to get it. Jon has his own truth. His truth is not your truth. It is flawed, but that is his perspective.

Justyn H

The tower of Babel (based on reading I've done) is very likely a ziggurat, it's quite possible that he heard that and assumed that we had found THE tower of Babel as apposed to A ziggurat. I belive we have found a few so it's possible all those things got jumbled up by his mind qs things he heard in passing or read somewhere, it's possible the tower of Babel likely being a ziggurat is a brain worm that I picked up the same way, so if I'm wrong please correct me if I'm wrong and it wasn't, assuming it was a real thing (and I'm not saying the story was true, but that some building and situation occurred, which was latter "rationalized" Into the story)

Near East mud and dust are predominantly composed of aluminium based compounds. So Adam and Eve were aluminium-based beings that gave birth to carbon based people…..hmmm.

SAWhowhatnow

Matt mentioned it several times and now I'm curious which former host he had a falling out with and why

What does he mean by, "a former friend of mine"? @ about 12:00 mins when he was expressing the New York Spiderman proof.

Jon refers to the X chromosome. Mitochondrial DNA has nothing to do with nuclear DNA including the DNA on the X chromosome. Mitochondrial DNA occurs outside the nucleus in ribosomes. Only mothers pass on mitochondrial DNA to the children.

Sabin

Jon is providing the evidence, of the Christian delusion at work.

Man also creates universal translator devices like smartphones and unites people again around the world under a common language of English, French, Spanish, or Chinese. Don't be surprised if God once again confuses everyone's language, and humans will have to reprogram their translation devices.

christians not reading the bible. That's 1 thing. christians not reading the "debunking" articles THEY send… That's a brand new level of ignorance.

Neologian

This is so typical to the point of being tragic. The article ITSELF that he's used as the basis of his argument for scientific proof of Eve…..says IN THE ARTICLE that the concept of a hypothetical mitochondrial Eve should in no way be construed as a literal "first woman".
So sad that Dear Jon, who's so determined to be the smartest guy in the room, didn't even really read, or couldn't really understand, the article he cites as his evidence actually refutes his position.

Facts and evidence are clearly not a friend to the religious.

Eli Martin

We fukin love you Matt! Take care guy! 🤙

A Sodom and Gomorrah theme park would be awesome! Imagine the kids with their parents watching the acts that led to the destruction of the city… And the ending would probably be spectacular with all the raining fire etc. Imagine the drive back home…

Why do theist's lie so blatantly?

Adam Barhoum

There is not now nor ever will be credible evidence of all of humanity somehow originating from 2 isolated parents constantly inbreeding with their children.

Anyone else NEED to see John's face as he reads Matt's response??

John St Fleur

I AM THE RESSURECTION.

Norman Riggs

Good luck with your pending surgery Matt.

Patch

Ken Ham is building the Tower of Babel?

Didn't he learn anything from the first one?

Brad Hansen

The Bible, like all historical fiction, does mention real historical people and places in many of its stories. This common practice doesn’t mean that the stories are true, it’s just an attempt to increase their verisimilitude.

Kren Wregget

wait… a christian was wrong about basically everything? I'M SHOCKED

Adam Langton

There a rock formation in Lake Louise Alberta called "The Tower of Babel." It's pretty cool looking, and I've climbed it. So he wasn't totally wrong. Haha

Eric Johnson

Open heart surgery is daunting, to be sure. As a heart transplant recipient, I feel your pain. Here's hoping you have excellent surgeons who perform their tasks successfully, and you come out the other end the better for it! ❤

Eric Johnson

Interesting stuff, despite Jon's confusion.
My favorite text places Eve coming to this planet 37,935 years ago, by transport seraphim. It also says that the first humans to evolve from their mid-mammal parentage occurred 993,506 years ago. So, not sure who that woman 6K years ago who's mitochondria we supposedly share is. But she was neither Eve nor Fonta (of Andon and Fonta).

While recovering at home maybe you could watch some Robert Sepher (archeologist) videos (You tube). He believes Jews came from Phoenecians and Cannanites and were Ayrans and also believes White People did not come out of Africa and I think he's a white supremacist, kinda promotes "Nazi Germany", and a lot of information I never heard before. I'd like to know your overall opinion. I know you will come through surgery with flying colors ! Best Wishes !

Elaine Goad

Best wishes Matt D. !!

Ted Easton

Love it. Thx Matt.

Rocke Robertson

Heads up non bio people. X and y chromosomes have nothing to do with the mitochondria. It's nucleic. silly ding dongs…

🦇The Asexual Vampire🦇

I lost it when you said if they dug up New York that doesn't prove that Spiderman exists.

Bbarfo

Chariot wheel discovery was one of many Ron Wyatt hoaxes indeed. A well rounded non-technical book written by archaeologist Willam G. Dever is, Has Archaeology Buried the Bible? Very worth the time and effort to read.

Ricardo Madrazo

I’d say Jon got his five bucks worth. Enjoyed your response videos thoroughly, thank you for them.

Laura Jarrell

Matt, wow, I can't believe anyone still believes that the Israelites were enslaved in Egypt! The archeologists that modern Israel, sent out, hoping to prove their right to it, said the story is myth. And for those who think, well, Egypt erased the history from their records as they tried to do a 'canceled' ruler, the facts still don't support it. The place where they supposedly went was still under Egyptian rule! Poor Jon, ignorant in the way creationists always are!👍 🥰💞✌

Outdoor Boss

So Matt isn’t friends with Eric anymore? He’s the only one that made the Spider-Man reference that I can think of.
