Pokemon Black Version 2 is a sequel to the original Pokémon Black, taking place in the same Unova region but offering a whole new story and gameplay experience to keep things fresh. It’s part of the fifth generation of Pokémon games alongside Pokémon Black and White, as well as Pokémon White 2. All mainline Pokémon games come in pairs where storylines are virtually the same but certain Pokémon and features are only present in one of the two games .

The gameplay
Pokémon Black 2 follows the same kind of structure as other mainline Pokémon games, and is similar in some ways to the Yo-kai Watch series of games. You begin the game with a choice of starter Pokémon before being released into the world to catch Pokémon, train them up, and fight regional gym leaders to earn badges. Once you earn all 8 badges, you’ll be able to take on the Elite Four who are some of the most powerful Pokémon trainers around. As Pokémon Black 2 is a sequel, the story follows the events from Pokémon Black and White, taking place exactly 2 years after the first games. You ” ll come across many familiar faces if you played Pokémon Black or White, so we highly recommend checking out those games first to get the full experience here. Following their appearance in the first games, Team Plasma also make a return as the primary antagonists of the game. You’ll be seeing them a lot as they cause havoc in the region, so be on the lookout and prepare yourself for any surprise encounters .
Legendary Pokémon
Every mainline Pokémon game features rare legendary Pokémon that players can encounter and catch near the end of the game and Pokémon Black 2 is no different. Much like in Pokémon Black, you’ll come across the legendary Zekrom at some point in the late game and will have the chance to capture it and add it to your party. If you think that’s cool, know that there are actually 9 legendary Pokémon in total that you can encounter in the Unova region, so be on the lookout for more!
